Recognizing the Need for an Emergency Pet Hospital Visit

A pet emergency can happen for many different reasons. Your pet may suffer from a traumatic injury, ingest something toxic, have an allergic reaction, or develop a serious underlying condition. Regardless of the reason, our North Hollywood emergency pet hospital is ready to accept any pet for urgent care during our opening hours.

We have an advanced critical care unit that offers high levels of oxygen to pets in a sealed environment, has heated floors, and is located in our treatment room so your pet can be consistently monitored. It also allows us to transfer your pet safely to a 24/7 emergency pet hospital if needed.

Signs Your Pet Needs Urgent Care

Emergency situations are not always black and white, but it’s important to recognize when your pet could need urgent care. If your pet exhibits any of the following conditions, please bring them straight to us:

  • Blunt force injury
  • Excessive bleeding
  • Seizures
  • Blood in urine, stool, or vomit
  • Disorientation or difficulty walking
  • Unconsciousness
  • Suspected ingestion of a toxin
  • Foreign body ingestion
  • Continuous vomiting or diarrhea for more than 24 hours

If for any reason you are unsure if your pet needs immediate medical care, please contact us and our skilled veterinary professionals will be able to assess the situation with only a few questions.
